The web is full of mixed up messes and messages. Take this story from the highly gossipy techwhack (who might deserve a wack), and the counter story from the countering Opera Watchers.

It demonstrates just how far people will go just to get some publicity. The “I want to get slashdotted” syndrome.

Perhaps, but it was still a marketing stunt IMHO. Gah, it’s even slashdotted now, even though it’s been countered :( .
